My first job out of college was at an ad agency where my twenty-something year old colleagues and I were basically abused.  It was brutal and amazing at the same time!  We got blamed for everything, sexually harassed, overworked, and underpaid.  Everyone seemed to be inappropriate in every way you can imagine. And while it wasn't healthy, it was helpful.  This toxic place put me on professional high alert for many reasons, but it taught me


It taught me to stand on business because perception is reality.  And I find that many who work in their own business or in someone else's don't worry about the signals they're sending when they take they don't take the business they're working in very seriously.
