If that's too harsh for you, consider going out of business and just going back to clocking a regular job.  Because the REALITY for those who want to get something out of today's Real, comes with facing this FACT.

TRUE...the same as you, your business is not an island.  You will need help. Especially if you want to grow.

TRUE...you do not and can not know EVERYTHING there is to know about EVERYTHING. This is not to be confused with my tip on how not getting played...learn something.

TRUE...you will F-up from time to time.

But at the end of the day, when you're the one in charge and it all belongs to you, it all falls on you.  If you're smart, you'll hire people to help and assist.  And if you're being real, they will sometimes screw up.  No one will love your business baby the way you do.  But you own your business so that means you must own it in every way.

Last week my assistant messed up in a MAJOR way.  And yes...I was both pissed and confused about how something like that could have happened.  And the damage she caused was in many ways irreparable.  But...not only was there a lesson in there for her, but for me, as well.  Her mistake was on ME, and all I could do was recover and figure out how I could ensure something on that level doesn't happen in the future.  And yes...she's still my assistant.  And a great assistant.  But at the end of the day, I take full responsibility in helping her be the best assistant to me she can be.
