It's only natural for professionals to take pride in what they do. As they should.  And naturally, if someone works in a particular field they will know more than the person who doesn't.  But it is not unusual for a professional to inflate the difficulty of their services to win business and/or charge higher fees when they know you don't know any better.  Especially when it comes to tech in your small business.

A lot of times it's just smart business to pay others to do the things we don't know how to do, nor want to do.  Especially when we are looking for professional expertise and a high-end result.  But...you can get played when you allow yourself to live in ignorance and go blindly into things without doing the proper research.

The unknown is only intimidating until it becomes known.

So...here are two things to think about:

  1. Do the research so you know what to expectknow the lingo and don't get played when you are looking to hire digital or tech experts in your business.
  2. Do the research, figure out what it takes to get it done, and  consider doing it yourself.

Only rocket science is rocket science. Business tech and digital in 2022 is not.
