4 Reasons To Tackle Your Online Tech (aka Get GeekD)
Nine years ago when I first started my web consulting business, it wasn't intentional. I was actually trying to develop a website for a business idea I had dreamt about. I had absolutely no clue what I was doing, minimal tech knowledge and no money to hire someone to help me! But what I did have was passion. Plus I was very serious about getting the website going. And that's the first reason I would suggest Getting GeekD in your online business.
GeekD

When Getting GeekD in your business you achieve your online business goals
- 1You're super passionate about your project, venture or business.
And let me be clear...if you're not passionate about what you're doing, and lack determination in regards to this task, you may want to stop reading this article right now. Passion is the only thing that will keep you going and see you through this journey. When I decided to Get GeekD about my website idea, it was difficult and the task at hand was daunting simply because there were so few options for me at the time. But I was hell bent on making the site happen. And I ended up building it!
Now, my desire to understand all of the ways small businesses and entrepreneurs can Get Geekd is strong. Any new app or feature is like catnip for me. Figuring out a process or how something is possible on a website, marketing funnel, or even in an administrative capacity almost gets me high. Especially when thinking about how these things can work in my own business. I mean, how exciting! While you may not get off on this kind of thing like I do, you should at least be interested. Which is my second reason you may want to Get GeekD in your online business.
- 2You must be interested in this.
If you are interested in how to get things done online, you're more likely to be successful at it. If the thought of this bores you, puts you to sleep or causes you too much anxiety, this journey may not be for you. Because... let's be honest, if you're not interested, you're not going to finish, and probably not even begin.
It's true, I have a strong propensity for online "stuff." Especially when it comes to figuring things out. When I know something is possible, but don’t know how it's possible, I’m fueled to figure it out. I can sit and ponder on problems, patiently working through them. Then, when I finally figure it out, it's an award-winning accomplishment. I'm satisfied knowing I've learned something that will go into my Getting GeekD toolbox. I'm not saying I'm over here hard coding and programming. And if you want to Get GeekD in your online business you don't need to know how to code either. Which brings me to my third reason to Get GeekD in your business. You have enough patience with self to figure things out.
- 3You must have patience.
Yeah, yeah...patience is a virtue. But when you want to go the GeekD route, it truly is. As Marie Forleo says, "Everything is figureoutable." And that is the absolute truth. But real talk...some people just don't have the patience to figure things out. If that's you, I would suggest going a different route. Being the master of your online journey will take you into unchartered territory. And once you've ventured into it, you often find out things aren't as hard as you thought they were. But if you lack patience, you may find yourself on your way to burn out, or worse. Giving up.
Usually, at the end of the day, it all comes down to money. If you don't know how to do something ,
don't want to learn how to do something, or simply don't want to do something, money can usually solve your problem. But what if you have no money? I mean like...NONE. That was me 9 years ago. Money shouldn't stop you from achieving your goals and realizing your dreams, should it? Which is my last, but not least, reason you may want to consider Getting GeekD in your business.
- 4Money
If your can't afford to hire someone, that's probably the main reason you were led you to even reading this post! Yes, money is a factor, but if you don't feel like you meet any of criteria 1-3 on my list, you're going to need to find them at some point in the process. My NOT having money allowed me to
- become more and more curious as I unlocked more and more information.
- strengthen my passion as I started to gain confidence with every accomplishment along the way.
- grow patience in a way I didn't think was possible! I just had no choice!
Remember, there are so many variables at play when it comes to Getting GeekD in your business. My story was about building a website, but that's not everything. You've got administrative tech, marketing and advertising, social, websites and more! You may decide to tackle it all. You may decide to do part of it, or even none of it. But I promise you there are a lot of things you are capable of Getting GeekD out on.
Don’t let the fear of Getting GeekD keep you from your dream business, passion project or next venture.
There's a little geek in everyone.
