You work so hard in your small business.  There's always something to do.  It's never ending.  And unlike the dread you felt working for the man or whatever job you had before you ventured out on your own, you actually like working.  It doesn't feel like work.  It feels like purpose.  It feels like accomplishment.  Every time you overcome an obstacle, conquer the hard thing, hit an achievement, you get a rush.  It's intoxicating and addictive.  But...

It's just as important to play as hard as you work.  And if I can give you any bit of advice...in order to stay sane, always, always have something to look forward to.  No matter how big or how small.  No matter how expensive or how cheap.  It doesn't make a difference.  The only criteria is that it has to really be something you're excited about and really looking forward to doing.

It's easy to stay tied to your business day-in and day-out.  And if you work from home, you may often look up from your computer only to find days have passed since you've left the house.  But not getting out and living your life can stifle your creativity and actually disrupt your productivity.  So break things up.  Get out. Leave. Go have fun.  The work isn't going anywhere.  And when you come back to your computer, you'll be way more productive, loaded with new and creative ideas and feel energized versus drained.

It's summer.  Are you looking forward to yours?
